This is my first year as a member and I'm going to fish the polo. Does anyone have a prefered bait that they catch the carp on. Thanks

I went to the polo yesterday one of the hardest sessions to date. Not a bite all morning by fishing buddies alarms were hit and miss a few knocks here and there. I tried every boilie imaginable. After four and a half hours decided to move pegs. No sooner had I moved pegs rods in the water, I got a first promising take, but nothing, then my buddies alarms went awall only to find his hookhold wasn't fantastic the fish got away. It wasn't till about half two I got my first and only fish of the day. Does anyone fishing the venue have any tips? Please

I found that there is no quick fix or shortcuts at the Polo. It is hard work but once you get it sussed it is a fantastic venue, for whatever fish you are after. There is no substitute for time spent on the bank.

Well I had a cracking day today at the polo. Met Paul first time, nice to meet you. Got snagged up three times and lost my leads on the island. But however I had a good catching day, first was a lovely flat bream of around a pound. Next was a tench of around three pound. I waited for around three hours for a lovely 8lb11oz leather carp. And to top the day my last was a 10lb4oz common carp. All was caught on boillie no issues I fished the exact spot I finished on. On the Thursday so shall see what next time brings no pics unfortunatley but I do have them on facebook

What bait well the first year I have fished this venue and one hard year it has been too. I don't think it matters what bait you use but the rigs

why do anglers think u need boilies n bite alarms to catch carp,i get great success fishing the rod tip.betaine green g-bate,small hemp, small amount of s-corn,correct consistency of added water with hair rigged s-corn on garbalino speed mould feeder, this method brings me great deal more success than sitting it out in deeper water or long casting chuking in spoded/boat fed carpet baiting.if there on the feed there on the feed, always remember this n u'll save allot of money! ps excuse spelling.

you dont need bite alarms and rod pods to catch carp its just some peoples prefered way of fishing like some people like fly fishing some people like using 16ft long poles its just a prefered way of fishing for some people

Haz some valid points there I just think the water maybe well over stocked with smaller fish hence the knock on effect with the carp though. If the the smaller fish were slimmed out fishing for carp there would be a good session every time you go. How many people fish there use the same tactics and don't catch.... Loads I don't think it counts on the bait you use or rigs or rods etc I just think its on how crouded the swim is bradhardy each to there own boillies, bite alarms,42inch landing nets its all angling and the better the gear and tactics used the better the after care for the capture..as you say you prefer a feeder. Try usings a method feeder on a normal 12 foot 2.5lb carp rod with a bite alarm you could be surprised... No menice meant by any comments

I personally don't like fishing the road side I tend to fish pegs further round and if I don't receive any indication of a bite or liners if I can move ill move. But I can't say any peg is better or produces all the time some times you may go home on a blank but that's angling gotta take rough with the smooth
