Hi Stanfish,
Thanks for this, much appreciated. Finally a simple and workable solution to this issue. Maybe now the thread "Apathy within the club" can be closed. It was becoming a bit tedius and diversifying away from it's origianl point.
Thanks again.

Stan, or anyone in the know, what time are these matches booked from - until and is it bad order to fish a stretch prior to a match? What type of numbers attend these days? Is it possible that if there are few then stretches are pegged away from pleasure anglers that are not aware a match is on?

Hi Zippy,
I think Stan has answered the question. If you check on a Monday evening you will know which venues are booked, i would then pick a different venue, there are plenty to go at. To start asking which pegs are booked and where you can or cannot fish is asking too much. I think it's fair that us pleasure anglers have a way of knowing which venues are match free, and leaving alone those venues which are booked for matched.
Also it is bad order to fish a stretch before a match, it will ruin it for the person who draws that peg (assuming you are talking about fishing on the same day of the match).

I agree with what you are saying and I would be miffed to see someone in the peg I had drawn, but you know venues such as topcliffe are going to be rammed by 05.00am, asenby similar. With the numbers attending these matches reducing, it seems not unreasonable to set aside a section within a stretch rather than have a potential 50 peg stretch unavailable to pleasure anglers for 10 match men to turn up?

Have to agree with you Zippy we should know what pegs are booked ,PAGE 6 ON THE GENERAL PAGE UNDER WATERS BOOKED is how it used to be posted ,venues then the pegs eg 1-33 .Don't think that's to much trouble Dawnstevetutsi do you mate , if a club has booked pegs 50 -75 at ullerskelf they's plenty of room for pleasure angler's why go to another venue if this is the water you want to fish when 1-49 are free this is why us pleasure anglers need to know which peg numbers are booked . Hi
Good to be back, yes had a great time, no fishing just a good rest. Can I ask those who want a better system of showing match bookings take a look at York & Dist, I think it is just brilliant and we should adopt the same or as near as if not for this season then asap. In the mean time I or steve will post early in the week throughout the season to give all members the opportunity to enjoy what is on offer. Just pinching a line from another post, I returned into LBA at 00-30am today and I find 51 unanswered e-mails no wonder you members think there is apathy within the society, these should have been dealt with in my absence and if anyone reads this and is awaiting a reply I will get to you shortly and apoligies from me, words will no doubt be said and as usual fall on deaf ears and no names mentioned.
Regards Graham
