Well its been a week since I last had them so I'm assuming they are on a bank somewhere, flew off the top of my car as I drove away, on a fence or just somewhere in the house but its time to bite the bullet and buy some new ones Any recommendations / tips and links to websites most appreciated Thoughts on lens colour also appreciated as my black ones seemed too dark sometimes ? Cheers

I use a pair from Wynchwood cost me about £15, but seem to do the job for me.

Amber lenses and not too dark, when looking into the water you can see much more detail and fish. Failing that you could always go for rose tinted, everything's bound to look better! lol.

Maui jims for me Rushy, I've compared them to a few of my mates cheeper options, they all seem to work well in good light conditions but these come into there own when lights not so good! Have watched fish in 6ft of water with poor light. One of the most important bits of kit you can have, makes finding/watching fish so much easier. If your wanting em for spotting barbel then the brown/orange tinted as mentioned work a treat for picking out those pecks on the river bed. Should start to see fish a bit more in the next weeks, I'll give you a shout, can go test you new glasses out before you loose em again!

Karl , I think I might just borrow yours mate while you're at work. I think I'm going to have to rethink my fifteen quid budget

You just get to be cool mate with your grandkids! and you can kick nuts out of stalking fish -and wading without falling into deep holes . If fishing is your passion life is too short to fish with inadequate tackle.

Or wait till they're half price or less. Ours were about £2 a pair from there last September Does this mean that this year's fishing tackle season has started at Aldi? They usually get one load in in spring and then another load at about the beginning of August. Most of their stuff goes to half price after 2-3 weeks, and then maybe even lower in September. Might start a new thread on "my best Aldi fishing purchases" When the baits get reduced to about £1 a bag for 800g of pellets or 150g of boiles that's pretty hard to beat even if they're not top, top quality. But the hempseed is probably the best value of all and that does seem like really decent quality and freezes well. The Crane fishing bags usually get reduced to about £4 too and they are the business for the 'roving approach'. I also got a decent unhooking mat reduced to about £3. Like I say that's all been the prices after things get reduced after 2-3 weeks. It's only the rods & rod/reel combos that usually diappear before they get to half price. All the rods are Fladen "beginners" stuff of course.
