Sorry bra1n I can get to the Facebook page via that link. If you are on fb search for barbel fishing yorkshire the comments are there. Mick. OK found it and it's a closed group you have to join first, which is why the link didn't work for me

Rummer has it york are issuing a plastic membership card a bit like a credit card next year doing away with the book system. I do belive you may find they still issue a book but also a card to carry for proof of membership Hull and district have had the same system for ages

I know there is time yet before the end of the year but it's not looking good for online books, anyone no when they become available in fishing shops.

Can I make a plea that Leeds (and other clubs ) organise day ticket issue on line? I am not a member every year and the nearest tackle shop(an endangered species ) is bloody miles away ?

That's the very reason that maybe we should continue using the endangered local tackle shops. Keep putting everything on line and they wont just be endangered, they will be extinct!

OK - but I live 40 miles away from the nearest tackle shop which sells Leeds tickets and less than half that from nearest Leeds water . And why should I waste half a day finding a shop which may be already on the skids ? Leeds and other clubs need to wake up and realise that everybody under 40 buys everything on line now and even some of us old farts do as well.No point in Clubs doing King Canute acts - it won't end well .
