Hi there i have been a member of leeds now for three years. I mainly fish the catterick lakes as it has a few good carp and is close. As for some of the earlier post i would just like to say that Gus does a good job in running the lakes.
I have seen the pictures that he had been talking about in the previous posts and i can say that he has done a great job in transforming what was a woodland with trees and bushes that were overgrown into a great peaceful fishery.
As for the rubbish that had been mentioned he does his best to remove it b ust as a few members may know Gus has been in and out of hospital so it is understandable in my opinion.
Cheers Craig Greg

hi i was just wondering if there was any plans to clear the weed in the back pond at catterick as it seems the only lake worth fishing as copley seems to be pritty dead at the min and from what i hear has been for some time. As for the match pond it catches well but gets a bit repetative. so is there any plans for the other lakes or is everything concentrated on the match pond ? thx

hi rd,yes and yes,we have treated the speci lake but it didn't do the job,i have been in touch with the guy who did it and he is going to redo it,and the back pond,i have also been in touch with the e/a about work we want to do there, when we have had these talks i will know more so hold tight for some changes,we also have plans to redo the pegging on the match lake, the silver fish pond and the small stock pond, and restock all of those 3 ponds, the silver fish pond with fish ,roach from the speci lake, and other fish we net,tench/bream,we hope to get the big carp out of the match lake to go into the speci lake and put 1,500 stockies into the match lake, plus 6,000 small carp into the the small pond which will become the junior pond, how dose that sound.we also want to make the middle lake the speci lake as it is the biggest ,then restructure the top lake and make this the second match lake instead of the middle lake as it is now.as you can see we have lots of plans but it will take time, when we come to do the netting early next year we will ask for helpers so you will all have a chance to do your bit.stan..

the bailiffs down at catterick are doing their upmost to keep the complex in tip-top condition, they even want some simmo carp for the specimen lake and leeds angling club wont let them, that specimen lake could be the major revenue for leeds as people would travel from all over the country to fish for the simmos. if you would bother listening to them for a change leeds you aswell as me would know the excellent ideas from the bailiffs,TIGHT LINES

Aww and here's me hoping that the Time Lord had snaffled it after all. Can you imagine Dr Who in a Tardis toilet....... ;D

samueltheman about toilets. Catterick portaloo seen flying towards Leeds HQ. Think it has been kidnapped. Hope the committe can raise the ransom money as most of us need to use toilet roll every time we fish.

Hi, its me again SAM the man well as i will not see 65 again & tend to use toilets a little more often i was wondering if our brand new" long distance portaloo pilot" ie mr Edward Henry has any idea if there is a health and safety factor involved or legal requirement, just a passing thought if any body know's . ps tight line &any thing else.

I think health and hygiene laws would come into play here. Never mind tight lines we need tight muscles.

I think it is about time we resolved the toilet issue once and for all, the site must have at least one unit and i promise this will be done as soon as possible. GRAHAM gen sec
