hi guys,the warmer weather has made for a few barbel catches in the last week or so,topped by a fish estimated at 12lbs,it was 33 inch long but the captor had no scales with him,the same lad then had 5 and 5 big chub at another swale venue,4 were caught on the ouse at dunsforth 2 were 8lbs,there as been a few out fishing these last week or too let us know of your catches.stan.

my mates just done 4hrs barbel fishing tonight at topcliff had 3 chub for just under 17lb. 7lb n 6lb 2o/z & 3lb10o/z weighed n photos taken want reet happy when i told him the count if trying for barbel ha ha

You say your mates just done 4 hours barbel fishing tonight at Topcliffe, maybe your mate should read his book, assuming he has one, and then stop night fishing at Topcliffe before he has his book taken away. The society do not allow night fishing on any of our river venue'

maybe he on parish pegs fishing as a topcliff resident ,all though there were a few anglers upsteam when he left at 9pm who had not read their books ,and its know as the nightfishing free stretch due to lack of a bailiff . i been a member many years fishing topcliff & aisenby week after week and have yet to be asked to produce my book ,

Hi maybe your mate should read his book, assuming he has one...........before he has his book taken away. Regards Graham ;D ;D I don't have a yearbook (no point, noone ever asks to see it) and I fished Topcliffe and Asenby right through the winter and was never once approached by anyone except the farmer at Asenby who was a real nice bloke. |

hope you are pleased with yourself as you are fishing in pegs that other anglers have payed to fish,you are stealing from us members,not the club-get your hand in your pocket you tight git and get some morals as well as a yearbook

your not the only free loader ,but if the good guys dont buy the books we cant pay the rent to the land owner to keep the fee loaders happy n the freeloader gets a free pass to night fish the rivers ,but god help the good guy who stay 10mins after sunset cos he will lose his book, were as you get politily asked to leave & me i be down cundal payin my $5 night fishing ticket ,can anybody join the free loaders its sounds good value for no layout

If anyone had paid to fish the pegs I used then surely they would've been fishing in them but no, not a soul to be seen. I'm not a fair weather fisherman and I'm more than happy to fish when the weather's bad, and also when others are sleeping and working. Looking forwards to a peacefull close season, even less people to disturb me ;D god help the good guy who stay 10mins after sunset cos he will lose his book Been there, got the T-shirt!! i be down cundal payin my $5 night fishing ticket ,can anybody join the free loaders its sounds good value for no layout Whenever I fish Cundal I always make a point of going to the farm first and paying my money. am sticking wit good guys before you try send me a free loaders application form No forms to fill in and everyone's welcome  |

if cundall farm is worth paying money for then why not club waters,i usually dont check books when i go to the swale as i look after my local water,but i will be checking everytime now,you'll rue the day when you boasted of poaching

You may think your clever but your nothing more than a parasite. In what way would you say I was a parasite? I consider myself to be a very courteous angler, I never, ever, leave any litter. I always close gates behind me. I always leave the peg in a better state than when I start, in fact if you were to fish from a peg straight after me you'd never know anyone had been there. I give help to others whenever I can so I don't understand, where does the parasite bit apply? The real parasites are Leeds DASA, they take YOUR money, chuck it into some muddy puddles then forget the river angler. As long as they have a muddy puddle in the middle of a field that they can rip overstocked fish out of the water on the end of a pole they ignore the 'real' angler, the angler who can, and actually does use a rod and reel to play the fish and not have the fish play itself on the end of a stick and an elastic band. They're no better than a poacher who uses a bungee cord tied to a bit of line tied to a tree. I will not put money into their (puddles) pockets, I will fish for free, on any stretch I wish to fish. Locked gates don't bother or stop me as I park far enough away for my car not to draw attention and walk in. If I'm never approached by a bailiff then that's not my problem. If you want me to stop, employ proper bailiffs who actually patrol all the waters daily, although that wont stop me cos once they've gone I'll start again  Happy fishing |

Slap my face with a leather glove and challenge me to a duel! ;D I'll tell you what, if you catch me fishing I promise I'll stop but until that day comes it's business as usual. Oh yeah, while I have taken a fair few trout from Kippax Park, I never take any fish from the rivers. Kippax Park is the easiest place to steal fish from ever! Such easy access along that footpath. |
