theres plenty of evidence to show that pike are capable of regulating their own population without the interference of man,as a twenty pound pike is more than capable of scoffing a five pound pike, whats the difference if an angler gets it in the pan first? Why would anybody want to eat a pike anyway?its not exactly worth eating.I would be in favour of a rule banning the removal of pike altogether and if i get chance always make anglers return fish, dont always get there in time to stop them being killed though.

Err sorry Ged, but yes they are, but I guess thats not P.C. any more. There are coarse fish that dont lend themselves to eating due to an overabundance of bones, or even downright poor tasting flesh, but Pike isnt one of them. BOF

You're ahead of me there Ged, so I'll trust you on that one. But in the main I stick to the usual Trout recipes, leaving Bream, Carp, Perch, Zander, as well as Pike nowadays, to our continental cousins. BOF
