Gated Fences at the top right and bottom right of this section with leeds locks that that the gypsy's don't have a key for has to be the fairest option all round...... If you don't lock them out they'll be straight in as soon as the grass is 2 inch high.

Fair point Eddie. Looks like Graham's proposed solution Is not what the members want then . . . . . Ah well , back to the drawing board I suspect Graham might be running out of enthusiasm so let's hope you can convince the GP Committee to come up with a solution to the horses which can be put before the Delegates

Eddie you talk a lot of sense. The club should be telling him what he can and cant do. The idea of locked gates is great but we just need to makesure only members get keys as anyone can buy a key from the club as u dont have to produce ur book to buy a leeds key. Please dont lose heart graham as it seems like ur the only person at the club who cares about its members. It may sound like nobody is ever happy but once this issue is sottef the place WILL thrive. Night ticket sales will rise by at least 25%

I can understand why the knotford anglers still aren't happy. If you talk to them you soon realise that many of them have spoken to Andy and tried to come to some agreement, were his horses are controlled or kept off parts of the bankside. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to respect what he agrees to and quickly puts the horses back. Recently some small fences which only kept the horses off part of the lake, where there is little grazing but plenty of mud, have been destroyed. These were on Leeds property. I can't see much faith being placed in some easily moved electric fences, that are under the control of the horses owner. The horses are here to stay and I can't see why some limited access to grazing and water can't be arranged, but this is a Leeds water and we should be deciding where the horses are allowed to go, I thought the whole idea was to hear what the anglers have to say and what will get them fishing the water. Leeds need to do the fences and we need to make it clear where the horses are not allowed, if not we are going to loose anglers and potential new ones be put off. I know Andy is a nice bloke to speak to and the value of having him there, but why are we not stipulating the terms of any grazing after all he's been privileged to buy land, live and run a business in a beautiful place courtesy of Leeds, the least we should expect in return is the respect of our boundaries. Eddie. At last well put sir

Ive had a chat with graham and he is in a difficult place but he has some plans which I think will work well for us anglers. The money gained from selling land can pay for a solid permanent fence. The area northface mapped out would be ideal. What does everyone else think. Graham is the only committee man whos been arsed to comment and try sort it out. I suppose once a fence is up if the horses come in the club can take action

I suppose once a fence is up if the horses come in the club can take action I think we all agree a fence of some sort is the only solution. If Graham's original suggestion of an electric one doesn't fit the bill then I'm sure going the whole hog and putting a solid permanent one up will surely solve the problem. Looks like an ideal opportunity for a couple of days teambuilding to me

That's good news and real progress. Shouldn't need too much in the way of materials if put in the right place. And I'm sure we can do the job with a work party or two. Thanks for listening graham. Eddie.

A couple of days team or fence building is what is needed and a good quote from Jimmy for the timber

Like the fence idea but to do a solid one with no gate would be better then no arsing around with keys, so anglers can walk around the waters edge so a average of 2 / 3 meter from water edge to fence it's self or more if needs be.I don't think electric fence is a safe idea, electric and water don't mix in any area.

Totally agree no gates, sorry about your barrows full of gear a bit of an inconvenience I know. But gates suggest possible entry and more expense, especially if they keep needing repair?

Yh wasn't thinking really of the measurments just a thought of a fence without gates and keys, don't want to caurse to many problems opening and closing gate enough trouble with carrying gear.
