last few times i've being on sett had a few eastern euro anglers(cough) down , saw 2 few weeks back carrying a bag back to their car that am sure they didnt go past with earlier . yesterday 2 came and asked me for my key to get through the gate which i refused , when asked if they were taking fish they replied that they take what they catch as they though they could !!!!!!!!
maybe it would be a good idea to stop day tickets at best or at least let it be known that the taking of fish from club waters is against the rules

have a look at rules regarding removal of fish and propose that they be changed at next agm.If wakefield council and developers get their way, wintersett will become nothing more than northern version of a centre parcs so a few pike being eaten will be least of our worries

am coming to the conclution leeds angling club really dont give 2 nutss about speci hunters and more about the match side of things but are happy to relieve me of £90+ a year so raiseing anything at an agm regards sett would be a waste of time , maybe we should send the fish eaters to 1 of the over stocked holes to fill their bags something would get done asap then !!!
why does every body always think pike is all they will be taking just cause they carry spinning rods around with em , 1 the other week had no rod with him but had a pair of waders on laying night lines on a lot of waters these days as well as nets . if it gets turns into a northern center parcs so be it nothing us as anglers can do were the lowest form of water users any way in most peoples eyes , pity were the only uppets who have to pay to enjoy our sport , looks like i'm on the hunt for a new back up water just in case

as said before,if i dont see people removing fish,i cant do anything about it.most foreign anglers when asked usually have day tickets unlike the english anglers who walk past leeds signs then pretend to think the fishing is free. The only reason the club rents the lease for wintersett is for the benefit of specimen anglers, when was the last time you saw a match being fished there?why have the club invested money in stocking carp into wintersett?could it be to secure the future of wintersett carp angling?Take a look at the number of different venues that the club has and look at how many are used for match fishing, then look at all the river venues that are home to specimen fish, then you will see that its not fair to criticise the club in this way. Its about time some of the members started to take responsibility for the waters they fish,if you see somebody doing something they shouldnt then grow some nuts and do something about it,dont walk past, dont expect one bloke to do everything cos its not possible.

i told them to get on their way in no uncertain terms ,few blokes i was chatting to said they're down all the time so gods knows what they may or may not of had , as for seeing them take fish they're very good at hiding what they are up to and when caught pull the old no speako english trick ..........not knocking leeds but they are way more interested in the match side of angling than speci side of things , any way back on track will the club be doing anything about day tickets ie maybe print on them sayin no taking of fish or maybe some signs in various languages so they cant claim they didnt know
