Great pics Daz mate and hats off for getting stuck in, looks like it was a fun if not educational trip. Some lovely looking fish there too, that should stop bubba complaining there's no fish in the pond Must admit I wouldn't fancy wading chest deep this time of year so well done to all who took part, a job well done and thanks for your time and effort for the anglers.

Cracking pics and post Daz, i'll fill the first bit in that you missed when you were "messing about on the river" First though a massive thanks to everyone that turned up to help, it would have taken twice as long without you all and it was a long day anyway. Every thing done today was under advise from the Environment Agency who supplied vehicles and tanks and did the tranfers for us. Plan of attackWhen we test netted the shallows last year we got a good weight of small silvers, these were todays target so seemed a good place to start. Whoops stunning but wrong speciesAll the carp were counted then released back over the net. 130 total in first netLots of these were low to mid doubles but its obvious they will not reach full potential until some are removed. We netted about 50% of the lake today, and after moving from the shallows the amount of silvers was staggering. The EA guidlines for a natural lake are about 400lb per acre, we netted near on 1000lb of the target fish which were this size. Half of the fish removed went to the Leeds length of the Aire and Calder down the road at Woodlesford, the others to our Sandwath fishery. On top of the weights of fish mentioned about 500lb of mid size skimmers, good bream, tench, chub and larger roach were released back over the nets. The netting part of the job was hard and very cold but well worth every ones efforts, its afterwards though that you need even more hands. Half a ton of wet stinky netsTo finish, we caught about another sixty carp at the same time as the silvers. The EA are confident that cropping the silvers today will be the best thing we have ever done for the lake and they expect catches to improve in the future, but they are still concerned at the number of carp. PS. Daz the superglue you mention on Grahams chair "we put it there" if you dont he's up digging etc and he's just had new knees fitted ;D

Great to see this but and there is always a but.
How would a member like me get involved. It's all well and good applauding those who were there but what about those like me Who would have jumped at the chance to muck in but can only read about it after the event.
Do you have be part of the inner sanctum or just turn up on the off chance.
Oh well I guess I can looked forward to reading about the next one

liptugga, Now we know your up for it if we need hands we will PM you and its always good to know that people like you are willing, we had enough labour organised for the netting yesterday and a good number of those that were involved were locals that just called in. You can imagine the problems we have doing jobs like this, and advertising for help through an open forum has in the past created it's own problems with antie's etc reading and turning up, but point taken. Steve
