i understand them clearing the beck as part of sbcs drainage team i know only too well that this must be done but they have dumped all the spoil from the beck onto peg 1 its not even as though they have made an embankment out of clay as you can see its just branches and mud that will just get washed away in the next big flood what is a shame though shane is no response seems to me they dont give a nuts about rivers kp is all that matters and the other puddles oh and moving fish from one puddle to another letting rivers go bad like this will only loose them members

Like you I am concerned about all our venues, but it looks like I am the only one who reads these posts and am left to respond. I have no idea who has done this work and to find out on a Sat night leaves it impossible to investigate until Mon, which is exactly what I will do.

it depends where at topcliffe im no hydro engineer but seems to me the best place for this structure to go would be to replace the weir with it, at the head of the parlour pool on the royalty they have one of these and it has not caused problems with the fishing but the big problem would be if it were put below the weir lets hope it just replaces the weir

I think someone needs to inspect the proposals. I'd volunteer but I have a baby due next week and Leeds is a 120mike round trip.....

"I think someone needs to inspect the proposals." i,ll nominate rushy Leave it with me - I'll get my Fathers for Justice Batman suit on and I'll be up the Yorkshire Evening Post building first thing Monday morning after I've been to the doctors about my ingrowing toenail. Can someone bring me a sarny and a flask of tea about 1pm. A few words of encouragement wouldn't go amiss as well as it will probably be cold up there ;D

it would be helpfull if any one from the club in leeds could go to the ea office and take a look at the plans for this it will more than likely clarify things but if its going to be situated where the weir is now i dont think it would affect fishing as it is the water cascades over the weir sill anyway only my opinion mind i may be wrong who knows

The hydro scheme is not a done deal by far, it is now at the planning state, your chance to object to the E.A. The two small screws will be placed on the right bank area in the vicinity of the weir, inpact accessments have been done.

Just beat me to it Graham - I was going to say that the OS Grid Ref quoted is bang on the weir ! Won't make a great deal of difference to you Avin - you can't catch now so a couple of Archimedes Screws whizzing in your right lug shouldn't make it any worse ;D ;D Good news is, thats my deaf lug so I won't be put off by the noise ;D Ah well, tea break over, back to the decorating
