hi guys, over 600 f1 carp to 12oz went into osprey lake yesterday,we hope this will help the winter fishing in osprey,we have consent for the whole site now,if these fish feed through the winter we may stock them in lapwing next year,no trout this year,we are trying a long term policy with the f1s,so lets see how we go,what do you think?..

Hi Stan Sounds good on both accounts to me. If the F1's scrap as hard as they do at Raskelf on the Bradford water it should be good. And no kamikaze, lunatic, hook swallowing trout has got to be a bonus !!! Will have to get down and give it a go seeing as Lapwing seems to be matched up on my days off Still I suppose it's nice for Sean and his mates to have somewhere easy to fish Right - back to sorting my Pike gear out for tomorrow ....... 6 foot diameter Rubber net, hacksaw, pliers, kevlar gloves, , body armour, truncheon, first aid kit, stretcher, rescue flare, foil blanket, Weils disease antidote, next of kin contact details, kippers slippers and pyjamas in case of admission to hospital - fruit bowl to put grapes in ...... thats just about it I think

Good news for Kippax. As far as commercials are concerned I think you need f1s. Hopefully they will keep bites coming for the regulars over winter. The methods for catching them are also a nice return to match fishing instead of just carp tactics

Don't forget the dog spike and rope with suitably placed knots to get you down and back up the steep river banks p.s the goldfish in my pond are still feeding but you may only get 2 pegs on there= mind you I can do a heart testing breakfast and it is only a few yards from the road to wheel your barrow.

Don't need a barrow and don't catch goldfish but I agree with the dog spike and I'll have my eggs scrambled please Geoff

Stan i think you will find that there's a bit more to catching f1"s than the usuall fish and chip approach and 0.18 direct to a size 14 isnt quite the norm.... but stick at it mate. Hope you had a good night Saturday mate happy 65th bet there wasn't much left of the 16oz

I would check the forecast for Thursday, gale force winds, rain turning to snow, not weather for a pensioner to be out fishing just sell all those day tickets!

Well Stanley - I'm glad I was not the only lunatic who escaped the asylum yesterday !! I nearly resisted the temptation - but just changed my mind from a long drive to Pool to go lure fishing and recce the length, to a short drive to the Nidd to see if I could snaffle a chub. Strange how you just can't resist the urge to get on the bank once you have it in your mind !! I lasted an hour and a half before I thought "What am I doing here " or something similar - went and had a cuppa and a sausage sarny in the layby cafe ...... very nice Next time I WILL resist the urge
