Sorry spoddy,
I can't really help you with Ferrybridge lakes. Since we don't own them, we haven't restocked them or netted them to assess the current fish population.
Stan is on holiday at the moment so he probably can't get the information for you just yet.
I'll ask around next time I'm down at the club and see what I can discover.
Steve.

Do Leeds still have the rights to the Ferrybridge complex? It isn't in this years book. If we do and anybody has fished the river, how was it?

Cheers Stan Thats cleared that one up , have Leeds got permission to take cars to the ponds via marsh lane as a couple were parked up when i had a stroll The river holds a good head of roach and bream and responds well to the pole at 5 or so meters, stick and feeder also score anywhere from the old toll bridge down to the Golden Lion and further down the R/H bank on what is known as the island, the bit of land that separates the cut from the river Its deep down here lads so don't fall in with your wellies on The L/H bank opposite the lock(Canal mouth) shallows up considerably( No boat traffic), the deeper track from the canal mouth down is on the R/H bank The ponds hold a good stock of fish and are well worth a visit.. BUT..they also need a bit of TLC as regards pegs and a general tidy up Off for my Leeds book today as its only £20 (No i am not tight...i prefer the term winter member ;D)

Went down to ferrybridge today, walked along left bank and couldn't get in anywhere due to bank side vegetation and trees, eventually ending up at lake1. Fished this lake and had a nice tench (4lb), skimmers, roach and perch. It was a long walk to the lake and it was full of litter, won't be in a hurry to go back. May try the right bank if the access is any easier ( - anybody know). A chap turned up on a bike (rods strapped to crossbar) and he says the river fishes well below the weir, but didn't know who owned it and he didn't possess a Leeds book.

Ayup Mick ;D Stress Relief, has your lass found out where you hide your Wallet or summat ;D(lol) Hello mrg The ponds need a tidy up so perhaps a working party could be put together in the future There used to be pegs on the R/H bank but nothing permanent (below the lock)and the island pegs are a steep climb/slide/fall down so be careful The river below the weir is free/E.A as is the island i believe, this used to belong to the Golden Lion as did the ponds and yep the pegs are a bit sparse on the L/H bank Try just down from the old Toll bridge, either bank as it fishes well there To fish the island section if loaded with tackle... drive through ferrybridge and head for knottingley, turn left onto pottery lane and follow the road until you come to a severe right hand bend, turn left and go across the bridge, turn left through the gate and park in the small car park If traveling light, park at Golden Lion and cross the cut via the foot bridge...Hope this helps Here is a Map
