Topcliffe parking help
Could someone help me with the parking at Topcliffe. I’ve been looking on Google street view at the north side of the river, is the parking on the land through the gap in the hedge with the Leeds sign. On the south side I can see 3 gates is this the bottom parking and which gate takes you down to the water.

Left bank you can go through gate and park at start of length, but you can park next to hedge in many places only a short walk to river from anywhere on this bank. Right bank park by sign and two field walk down to river, hope this helps.

I suspected it would be popular on the last week and I cant get there before 10. I think I will take a punt and I can always go to Sandwath for a sleep if the rivers full. You could go down and save me a swim if you want mate.

Cheers mate, I did some searching on the forum for Asenby and it looks like there’s a lot of river to explore there.

Yes as gcb said there's plenty of water to go at, good thing is you can have a look at topcliffe and if no good be at asenby in literally 5 minutes. You say you haven't fished topcliffe for 30 years⁉ and asked about parking, but finding your way to river from main road is more of a challenge, let forum know if unsure and i am sure one of us will help you out with directions. All the best with your efforts hoping to get session in myself.

Steve right bank - from the A168 pass Asenby and turn left before the bridge park near the gate on the right hand side.
left bank from A168 past Asenby turn right over the bridge take the turning to your left sign posted Northallerton, come to the junction and go straight across down the hill round the left bend. the car park is to your left big opening.

Cheers John. I’ve found the entry points via Google street wise and I am going to put the map references in my gps.

Steve Say hi to Shane and Ronny for me. Shane will be in Peg 1 - Ronny in peg 2 with a daft hat on no doubt and a Pike rod out. Shane will have a bewildered look on his face trying to tie a Palomar knot and a cold Parmo on the side of his chair (its a Teeside delicacy and Shanes heart surgeon has suggested he eats as many of them as possible in lieu of exercise Failing that it could be Bonker on Peg 1 but only if it's after 10am cos he likes a sleep in. Watch him - he knows what he's doing ..... he can tie a Palomar knot blindfolded If you forget worms there used to be a spade in peg 1 but I'm afraid to report it's in Ronnys garage now Make sure you put plenty of blusher on as well and look good 'cos if you catch you could end up with a leading role in one of Charly Tom Farlys You Tube videos. Also, could you have a look in the bushes and see if Frim is still in there, if you find him could you ask him to let us know if he can make the bank clearing event on the 27 th All the best and tight lines Rushy - I'll be on the Nidd by the way

I wouldn't worry you'll probably still find somewhere to fish if not move to asenby. I suspect the bigger barbel will be here this time of season
