Nice series of pics, river carrying a drop of extra water. It's cranking up the anticipation, only two weeks to go‼

Just read your post stormchaser had same thing with cattle, you'd think they would be scared off easily. Have chased them off when behind me licking my rod holdall when fishing, few minutes later they are back. Its almost like their playing a game. Could make the match a laugh though, those seemed to be loitering with intent‼

right guys and rushy
had a walk down here today first of all the parking on the grass just after the gate is block by 2 big tree trucks,
the river up stream of here looks really nice plenty of pegs and cover for fish could need a bit of extra water in tho.
Rushy have you decided on what stretch of river we are fishing yet top, middle or bottom.

There are some clonking Barbel and Chub in this stretch. You really need heavy gear on though as there are loads of snags. Towards the Nidd mouth you can have a good days stick float fishing with plenty of silver fish about.

Wise words niddman. The specimens are easier to hook than put on the bank and as ever the trickier swims/features hold the better fish - especially in low water.

I first laid eyes on this beautiful stretch meself just a week or so ago - half a year on since Rushy's lovely pic's were taken - and then I come on here and find this thread and can now see it's almost as beautiful in summer.
Well done to anyone who has hacked at the undergrowth there to help clear and maintain such fantastic-looking swims.
I blanked on my first visit, but I'm smitten with this stretch of water and shall return fairly soon with more varieties of cheese (etc) in my cheesy pastes, until I find a formula that those Moor Monkton chub can't resist.
