Seeing as poor old Stickleback has maintained his record of 23 blanks here , I thought it might be interesting to get a few of us together for a session to see if we can catch some fish from this lovely venue. What puzzles me is there are Barbel caught regularly from "around this area " but none seem to be caught from our stretch - unless they are, but nobody is reporting it I'm personally fairly flexible as to when we fish but I think we might have a better chance of catching during an evening session after work. If anyone is interested, please put your name on here then once we have the numbers we can try and sort a date out All the best Rushy

I used to fish here a bit a few years ago and it used to produce a few barbel, but then about 5 years ago they just seemed to disappear and I fished about 10 evening sessions with my uncle and a mate and none of us had a bite, strange to say the least. Be interesting to hear how you get on though so keep us informed

I also used to fish this stretch regularly until about 4 years ago & the barbel seemed to disappear. 6 or 7 years ago you'd get 2 to 4 fish on an average session, but then they dried up. Other regulars also struggled & disappeared to other venues. It was similar at Ulleskelf, the matches were throwing up loads of barbel 4 or 5 years ago & numbers there seem to have moved on.

Fished Linton years ago and had some cracking Chubb hauls, went last season and only managed a couple of trout and loads of minnows. Strange that larger species seem to disappear, but minnows thrive? Been fishing skelf this season and last and caught barbel almost every session.
