Hi Steve it's quite a long length with a few entry points. Kirby wharfe entry: take road sign posted Kirby wharf, park at side of road next to fence on right, it's just before right hand bend into village in front of the green. You have to walk round to the right past houses and down bridal way to gate and then still quite a walk across fields to river. If you don't take Kirby wharf turning carry on towards skelf, turn left just before bridge over railway, follow road round and park on grass verge with a bridal way in front of you, same deal again, follow this to gate and walk diagonally across fields untill you find access to river(it's a bit puzzling first time), again a tidy walk! Next way, continue over bridge and into skelf, go round bend past post office and park at road side. Entry is a bit past post office on left, but this is the nearest you will park to the river and is the bottom of the railway field. There is another entry on bend before post office, but was closed due to work being done to the riverbank, it's a bit of a walk and brings you out at the top of the railway field. You can also access above the railway field by going under the viaduct and I think it might be open again now. There you go Steve, bet you wish you never asked!! Good luck mate

I fished the lower limits of the Wharfe and apart from a good size Perch that I lost at the net I caught nothing special just small perch and roach.

I've been going to Marston wyse in wetherby/long Marston which has ponds but with little action. I went on the river Calder a couple of weeks ago and caught more fish in 5 hours than I'd done at Marston in my last 5 visits.
If not rivers, then reservoirs or other ponds lakes for fly fishing in the west Yorkshire region?

Vertualy every comercial/lake/resovouir allows fishing but people tend to not use this method as spacing between pegs arnt adequat enough........best place to fly fish on a commercial is at Kippax ponds...think its skylark lake.
