Thing that amazes me is alot of the smaller fish are far better looking and are a pure pleasure and a privilege to catch size doesn't matter when you see some of the stunners

Some people argue, a great deal of fuss is made by the anglers fishing knotford about the horses, to put new anglers off, and wanting the venue all to themselves. Well that's obviously not the case with everyone on there northface. I wouldn't worry too much about posting the pictures, in carp circles I'm sure their existence was already known. You were kind enough to pm me the photos of the fish before, but I'm glad everyone has seen the quality fishing we are talking about. Cracking fish mate and obviously the work of several seasons. Nice one!
Eddie.

I agree, night permit sales are down from I think about 70 to I think 39 was mentioned. That's over £2000 in night permits alone, not to mention memberships. If the removal of the horses from inside the otter fence could get the numbers back up, knotford would be making more for the club than Kippax ponds! Worth considering. The photos posted can only help too! Eddie.

This is why it's such a special place to so many, true English carp and natural banks, a rarity these days. No doubt I'll not be flavour of the month but the reasoning behind it is this.......more anglers.
Now the stocking has reached what seems to be optimum for the lake hopefully a few fish will push over 30lb, but they won't do that eating a few lice in the weed, they need boilies and lots of 'em, I don't think us few regulars putting 20 baits round each rod will cut it......hence more anglers.
Also to prove to the club that it's still a viable water, after listening to some of the stuff being bandied about recently anything could happen to the place......think about that!!
I'm not the type of person to go argue at meetings about it (thankfully some do) but everyone's different right?? But what I can do is publish pictures that previously don't exist anywhere in order for potential members looking for information about the place to see.....looks like the horse situation is not gonna get sorted this year due to the classic red tape and beaurocracy that club politics brings (something needs doing just f'ing do it) so people need a reason to come back and I truly hope this helps.
Knotford's never attracted naff anglers due to the fact it's a nightmare to get on with (a bonus in hinesight) so I can't see any problems there, so why not. Jesus I remember 6/7 years ago turning up a few times on a Friday with my mate and not being able to get a peg! Yes there were a few expletives mumbled as we sloped off down the road to Tolsons at the time but it's what's best for the lake that counts.......Knotford's bigger than all of us. Get them night permits back up to 70 and knotford will just become good numbers in the accounts book at the club and they'll forget about it again leaving it just as we like it! I'd encourage others to post their captures for the same reasons....... Knotford's had it's fair share of problems and is a pain in the arse water that'll bit•h slap you when your down, but when you catch one it's worth 10 anywhere else....

Cracking fish there guy's, I haven't even wet a line there for the last two years even though I've had a night permit for four, only caught a few smaller stockies. Guess I've been put off by the otter's ,fish theft's , horses, seems to have just been negative news on there for a while. But seeing those beuts I'll have to up my effort this year. Thanks for sharing them northface and wrighty.
