Just a quick question, are we now aloud to park in the field by the back gate. The only reason i ask is because i drive past most days and have noticed cars now parking in the field that is accessed by the back gate by the water works, have seen this on several occasions over the last couple of weeks, cheers in advance for clarification

Noticed yesterday that gate has a combination lock. Seems like a club within a club?

We know Highwood AC have adopted the care of knotford and work I believe is still on going on the main car park, so they may be parked there because it was closed for work. I know they wanted to lock that entrance, no point locking the main car park and having an open gate. From time to time a second car park has been suggested, so who knows? Ps. I'm sure the anglers fishing there would happily give you the locks combination, once they know your a Leeds angler.

Should it not be them you have to approach for the combination? Surely its not for a group of anglers(elected custodian's or not)to decide and keep the combinations to themselves? Sounds more and more like Bradford No1 all the time. Before long we will be climbing through/over boarded up gates and barbed wire.

Sure if you walked on the lake grford77 and asked you would get the number for the gate once you prove you are a member.I fished there last winter few times and that unlocked gate wos used by dog walkers ect on a regular daily basis (not members) anyone could and did walk on the lake not much point on the main gate with the other gates unlocked.I think its a good idea especially if your night fishing.

But thats the point, you shouldnt be needing to speak with other anglers to get the code. It should be the club who has the responsibility and who you need to approach. Not a group of select anglers within the club who know and also then can chose to change the lock/combination anytime they feel like it! Think it was said in an earlier post "club within a club" just about sums it up and like I said earlier, its turning into Bradford No1.
