40 mph winds due tomorrow afternoon, though sunny.
Anyone think that MM fishing would be affected enough to make it not worthwhile?
Or should still fish OK in a sheltered margin?

Me , Brent and Bobble went yesterday aft Nige and the fish are still climbing up the rod. I cant remember which pools are matched up tomorrow but I'm sure you will be able to find a bit of shelter on all the pools. Match lake does tend to have a bit of a howler down it though If you can hold a bait steady ........... you will catch If the lad with the broken nose , big biceps and tee shirt that looks too small for him is there fishing floating bread again , can you tell him its not allowed and this is the last time YOU are going to tell him

Hope that's Ok. It was quite a wild afternoon in the wind even without him - gusting towards 50 mph and pegs needed to be even more sheltered than I thought, especially fishing the method feeder as I was. I would say that when we arrived peg 72 in the corner by the entrance was the ONLY fully sheltered peg on Front Lake and I thought that Claire needed it more than me, but it was the other way round really with my tactics. Only caught one fish in my first hour and a half on the Front Lake (is this a new record worst performance for the venue?), and the only other action the landing net was getting was retrieving stuff that had blown in ....by which time Claire in that corner had caught loads on the pole, but then we swapped and both had a fish a chuck. Got home and half a tree had crashed down into me garden in the gales. By the way, has anyone got any tips on how to specifically target the big perch in that Front lake?

Well Nige . I was all Carped out last week so I decided to target the Big Perch with a worm attack. Half an hour into the session I got a 4 ounce Roach on a Lobby bigger than the roach . followed by a 3 ounce Perch (result ) and then a pound skimmer Eventually the float slid under Mr Crabtree Perch style and as I struck into it , it felt like a good fish. 15 seconds later with the rod tip banging wildly I had a flashback to happy days fishing the sand bed at the mucky hole on the Wharf. My memory served me good as I slid the net under it
