Well , as Bobble and Brent , Glen and Wally had kindly introduced me to Pike fishing last winter , I decided to,return the favour and took Brent and Bobble on their first Barbel outing yesterday. As always, our budding film Director Bobble decided we would add another video to our ever growing Last Cast You Tube library. Barbel Fishing The Basics. Unfortunately our Last Cast presenter . . . Ey up Paul , couldn't join us , so yours truly stood in as the presenter . . Applying for my equity card this weekend . . Good fun this , and it breaks up the long spells when you are not getting bites The full video is still in the editing room but I think this clip is going to appear in the outakes section youtu.be/_ip2d-LgJV4

So that's what all the laughing was about! I was fishing behind the bush in the background, thought you lot had been at the funny cigarettes! Top tip Rushy, push a boilie onto your baiting needle when not in use

Rushy would not waste a boilie for such a thing, he was down on all fours for nearly an hour looking for the one that dropped off when he had the big barble! :-)
"Deano, get down here and move this grass for me...its here I know it, get the lads to help!...I can get two weeks out of it if we can find it :-)

I have just looked very carefully at the photo of that beautiful barbel Rushy....now sit down and take a BIG breath!....I CAN SEE THE BOILIE IN THE GRASS.
I shall donate a pound to a charity of any anglers choice who can also spot it so Rushy can have a drive out to retrieve it.
Come on lads, lets help him out! ;-))))))))

If you remember he put his hand in his pocket with a nervous smile. I'm telling ya, he will have had his Brunson burner , litmus paper , Petri dishes and chemical analysis gear on it already. My secret boilies blown mate , back to luncheon meat for me

Ha! :-))))))) Superb.
I shall make you some specials up Rushy! My kitchen smells like a tarts bedroom with all the flavours I have ready to blank...I mean catch with this season! :-)
Looking at some of the posts on BFW some of the guys down South are struggling for bites. How lucky are we to the rivers up here with some great barbel and chub fishing on the doorstep!
Leeds have some brilliant waters!

Barbel fishing is changing fast, rivers that were prolific a few years ago are now hard work. It's all doom n gloom if you listen to some people. It's great to see a few fish coming off yorkshire rivers, the lads have done a fantastic job at skipp bridge to continue what was started last year. It just needs anglers on the bank putting bait in. There arnt many better looking bits of river than this. I really feel for those poor southerners struggling after they've had it good for so long!!!

Watched the full video and was a top job in my opinion even the impaler section could have done with a little more tackle info Ie hook size and hook pellet size oh and lead size apart from that very good little taster video for the roving approach. Keep em coming lads

yeah surely now the rivers pegs are opening up and more people and bait going in this should start putting the oz`s / lbs on the fish on our Yorkshire rivers.
