The shop is on the A684 road from Morton to Bedale. they have an honesty box I think springhousefarmshop.com/contact-us-find-us DL7 9LG the biggest parking place is the layby at the Bridge, South West side of the bridge, loads of space. But there are loads of other access points on this map www.nadac.org.uk/#!waters/c1ac8 someone will be able to tell you whether to walk up or down stream from the bridge, or where else is best . Both looked great to me when I had a picnic there but I've not fished it!!

From post office looking towards the bridge, it flows right to left and you can fish downstream on the bank closest to you (and a small section on the opposite bank before you get to stockton ac water which isn't fishable on a day ticket)

if i remember rightly bang opp leeming bar length, youd be on left bank, pacey wi chub and barbel[sometimes ] Yes this stretch you are talking about is the one known in the book as scruton (leeming bar) I think we gave it up a while back . A very long walk if I remember. Its the Bedale beck that runs into it . Just above the beck there are some bushes and cover downstream of pacey water. There are plenty of chub around here and grayling. There are barbell too but not many. I remember there was a sharp bend in the river upstream as well with lots of cover. I think the Northallerton side will be better to fish from and for a fiver its one I may have a day on. If your not catching though I think there is usually a bit of plane spotting to pass the time they go low there so take some earplugs
