Some lovely fish Ian, and great pics as ever. I recognise the peg in most of the photos and it's where Claire had some success last Saturday.

Hi Nige , my comment on skip bridge was prompted because I'd been watching tom's you tube footage and it looked jungle like. On the match situation rushy , graham or eddie may get to know , I hope they're 30peggers. lol I don't think the matches are on the length we worked on . . Although I may be wrong ? I think the matches are on the Railway length (here we go again ) Peg 1 is just below where we started and peg 30 is down by the railway bridge , Or coming up the river from the horsefield . . Peg 30 is the other side of the bridge and peg 1 is just before where we started the work ( straight across from where you go under the little bridge ) OK yeah... I'd forgotten what we learnt a few weeks ago, yep ... our work party stretch was actually "Railway Top". Hmm. This means four Sundays worth of bait will be going in the other field, Railway Bottom. This presumably makes these pegs worth fishing on ...hmm let's see? Maybe a Sunday evening? Now where do we find out which pegs are winning? I have a good relationship with the two chestnut colts in that field but despite all the carrots I haven't yet quite finished training them Mr Ed style to stomp their hooves by certain pegs to indicate number and weight of barbel and chub caught. Or any decent perch for that matter. Go on Rushy, you know you want to find out for us!

Any Barbs been coming out then?, a few look like snag pits to me. Best way to find out is fish it mate, barbel+ snags+heavy gear+right conditions can mean a great day[sometimes ] knowing the unknown
I like it make it more interesting

Haha Nige just a bit of banter !!! do you really think the nice looking big river Nidd Barbel are going to sit there and wait for Mr nice guy like yourself to come alone to plonk a piece of meat, pellet or boilie on a dinner plate for them. even knowing everything which I don't think anyone of us does will get you fish on the bank, isn't that what river fishing is all about the unknown !!!

Some lovely fish Ian, and great pics as ever. I recognise the pegs in most of the photos and it's where Claire had some success last Saturday. i'm not one for photoshoping my pics as it ruins them but i can see why others want to keep their favourite pegs for themselves.... it's not me i like to share and dont care if someones in a peg i like it makes me go find another

It's been a bit frustrating waiting for this rain to come...bit later than forecast... fingers crossed it's 24 hours of the stuff now and drying up in time for a nice Saturday session with the river hopefully nearly a foot up by then

Sat in local after doing the quiz, but earlier tonight I attended the gp committee meeting at Leeds and I have been asked to pass on the thanks of the committee to all who took part in the work party opening up the pegs, so on behalf of LDASA a big thankyou chaps, well done!
Eddie.

Don't think this bit of rain that's forecast will improve things for Saturday nige. I'm on the swale I think , not sure where but I won't be packing the 5oz leads !

You won the last imaginary pint but I'm having this one. it'll be at least 50cm in the morning at Skip Bridge, which will be double yesterday's reading and 10 inches up at least. I'm expecting more, but I'll go for a conservative 10 inches since I said 'nearly a foot' It's been raining solidly all night in the Nidd catchment area and is an inch and half up already this morning, and this evening I'm guessing another 5 or 6 inches, then it should peak in the morning not far off a foot up. Another imaginary pint says there won't be a rise of anything like that anywhere on the Swale. Tight lines wherever you go though. No prizes for guessing that i'll be sliding down a few pegs on me arse again.

It's a foot up now ... that's all I wanted ....it could, and it looks like it probably will, be way too high by the morning to fish well. We'll see.

Enjoy the imaginary pint Nige , it should be interesting in the morning although we have yet to decide our venue. Swale I think but not decided where yet but if its rising meat or pellets will be the order of the day. Hopefully I may more than double my seasons haul of berties.

The swale is a perfect 3ft + And looks brilliant , that can only mean one thing. ......I'm gonna blank. Wish I'd packed the 5oz leads.

I was wrong then about the Nidd being higher than the Swale, cos Hammerton was also around 3 foot up this morning, maybe a bit less. Some pegs I hardly recognised from 2 weeks ago. there'll be some good fishing over the next few days.
