I can give nothing but praise for Rushys balsam bashing (I feel that by guiding him from the top of the bank and shouting lots of encouragement, it really did get the best out of him!) and also his foresight regarding a glaring safety issue!
As we progress through life, perhaps we are not quite as "nimble" as we once were! Swinging one's leg over a barbed wire fence with 50 kilo of tackle on your back is risky, d**n funny for your angling buddy as you then grasp the barbed wire with your hands in an attempt to relieve the pain as your foot goes down a rabbit hole on the other side, and you swing, suspended by your "crown jewels". So, some modifications in line with health and safety have taken place where necessary to aid access. We shall also have a rope at hand to HOIST any person on the day up the bank should this be needed.
It was a hard days fishing, in the end, guile, cunning, correct application of bait and tactics came out on top, which is just what Rushy was attempting to convey via his report of course! (he did try to break my concentration with the best pork pie I have eaten in many a day!!! but...I saw through his ruse!:-))))) As I seem unable to catch anything but chub at the moment, I did make the suggestion that on Saturday we also include a place in the day for the biggest one caught, any views on this ? :-)

We went into every peg on the way up and cleared access although it looks like the match lads have done a good job. I wonder if there's any way to know how the matches have gone? 4 sundays in a row up to today it was booked for matches Anyway, good work Rushy and Deano. The pellets story is probably just a red herring though designed to influence their rivals' baiting strategy next Saturday. Trust nobody. Oh and I heard that strimmer is on Leeds & D ASA's "Most Wanted" list. There's a bounty on its head and a posse gathering at Moor Monkton Pools tomorrow.

That's a proper good trophy Rushy! I could do with something to put my boiled egg in as l attack it with an eggy soldier for breakfast! :-)))
I shall also bring a couple of bottles for the winner, as a second prize I would like to donate a disgorger that I found on Saturday...Dave claimed to have dropped it two years ago in the undergrowth and would know it anywhere! :-))) It would have been straight onto Ebay when he got home had he got his mitts on it! :-)))

Well Saturday is forecast to be a nice day with no rain for the two days previous so hopefully the Hunsingore level should be near the 0.11 preferred Rushy level Meet in the layby at 8am where Deano will be showcasing his latest M & S shreddies and if you can stomach a sarny after witnessing that we can have a quick chomp and a brew before we hit the river. The plan is quite simple : Start at the Bridge and jump in a peg you fancy ....... no running for those that have fished it before . If you want to stop in one peg all day that's fine or if you prefer a bit of roving , work our way along to the railway bridge and beyond into the railway field and then even beyonder onto the length we cleared if you are feeling fit and fancy a bit of balsam bashing !! We do have a Barbel virgin with us on the day ..... a la Stewart Madchester Carper so if its fine with everyone else I would like to plonk him in a swim where theres a good chance of him losing one Think I might have a day on the stick float and caster just for a change Look forward to seeing everyone on the day .................... hope we catch a few All the best Rushy

Last time we saw him he popped up and won the forum match at kippax and took the spoils!!! Disappears only to resurface when he smells easy pickings again!!!!! Think we have a new favourite. Eddie. Ps. Shane will be nice to see you again mate.

Well It looks like you might be in luck lads. As there seems to be a lot of interest in the Chub Challenge as well I've had a look in my wood store and I might just have enough wood left to make another famous Forum Chub Trophy It will obviously take me most of the day to make but I don't mind giving up a days fishing to give someone the pleasure of one of my much sought after trophies adorning their bedside cabinet Ps. It might be worth taking a roll of insulation tape or some other identifiable means to attach to the top of the wires so we know which pegs have been fished. Don't want Johnboy throwing a kilo of Carp spod mix into each peg and then the rest of us trying to get a bite afterwards
