Not sure if anyone has been over to France recently but it is common for the bigger supermarkets, Super U, Carrefour etc to have a large fridge with maggots for sale in small tubs, probably about 1/4 to 1/2 pint. No one bats an eyelid, the fridge is positioned away from food and is in the area selling hardware and such like.
Now that Morrisson's have announced a pre tax loss of 47% and are closing eleven stores is this an opportunity for Aldi to step in, buy the stores and stock maggots alongside and other fishing products, and it would certainly be competition for the regular tackle shops.
