thinking of up grading my every day rods that can do more than 1 job and cut down on to many rods for separate situations what`s your opinion. selling for £50 each thinking of buying 2.
The Alivio AX Barbel is a specialist tool. Supplied with 3 separate push in quivertips and an avon tip, this is not only a fantastic rod for taming large barbel, but it is also a fine tool for targeting other species such as Chub and Tench. Constructed from a XT30 Blank with a traditional cork handle, the Alivio AX Barbel range provides exceptional quality at a competitive price.

I don't have one John but I do have a shimano vengence barbel classic 1.5 lb test. It's a super rod and I use it for general quiver tipping and light barbel work. Shimano is great kit and I'm sure the alivio will be a good rod at a cracking price. Get yer dosh out !

They look like nice rods jb, choice of 1.5 or 1.75lb test curve. My advice go for the 1.75lb test curve, you'll appreciate the little bit of extra power when in tight situations!
