Hi,
Need some advice please, I've not been fishing for 30 years and really want to get back into it but have no idea where to go. In my youth I used to mainly do river fishing, but didn't grow up in Leeds so not really sure where to go. My son has showed an interest also and I would love to for me and him to share an interest....especially one you don't have to plug in, or look at a screen for hours on end, something that gets him outside to appreciate what Yorkshire has to offer !!!.... We live in New Farnley, Leeds 12... And so far our experiences have been a couple of visits to the canal near Armley, one visit had zero success and the other had a few roach and small perch. As Armley Angling is now winding down I took a trip to Bobco, what a fantastic shop !!!.. But can be a bit overwhelming, when I was fishing it was a rod, a reel, floats, ledgers, swim feeders and maggots or worms...now there is so many different types of equipment and baits I just have no idea where to start.....Felt a bit lost so tried to ask for advice on tackle and where to go fishing but the guy we spoke to really didn't seem interested in helping, kept getting the impression I was wasting his time.... All I need is some info what local river, pond ,lake or canal fishing is available for pleasure fishing, where to get day tickets if needed. I'll join a club if I need to, just somewhere we can go and have some quality time, doesn't have to be big specimen fish as long as we can catch a few to keep the interest going. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Paul.
