Not a Leeds water but looking for any information about the fishery called Brickyard Fishery just off the A1 on the A61 towards Ripon. Research on the internet doesn't have anything for the last few years. Waiting for a call back from a telephone number found on another website. Has anyone fished it and if so is it worth a visit ? Thanks

Hiya mate lived in Ripon about 11 years ago only fished it twice, it wasn't a place a lot of people talked about and to be honest there wasn't that many reports.
don't know if it had changed hands since, used to have some big Carp and Tench in and a smaller pond with smaller stuff in it that's as much as I know hope that helps a bit. I think the owner (then) was a bit funny with people.

I'm sure I heard on the grapevine a few years ago Otters demolished the place.

The place got hammered by otters the season before last, although the guy won't admit to losing more than a few. there's still some carp left and plenty of small silvers and crucians. It's a beautiful place, very natural, just a shame about the fishing. £6 a day, though if you want to catch some real fighting carp up to low doubles try Mornd*ke, just on the Ripon side of Busby Stoop roundabout. Hope you found Thirsk OK on Saturday.

Thanks for the replies. May wait for the better weather and pop along to see if anyone is about who claims to manage the fishery. Mornd**e is a good place to go. Took my old dad there and he was happy catching decent sized roach all afternoon. After catching roach I put a ledger out with a feeder and caught a couple of the carp, not massive. but good fighters and in good condition. It's a little bit of a hidden gem. Went back a few weeks ago with a friend of mine and his two boys and we caught the roach every cast. No keepnets allowed but to me that's not a bad thing as the old farmer that owns the water manages it well and fish welfare is important. I'd rather go there than Woodlands for example which is busy and heavily fished.

Don't know why but the forum doesn't like the word Morn d**e and has put asterixs in the place of letters.

It is an odd little place - good numbers of carp if you like that sort of thing but despite the owner's assertions I am not convinced it has 3 lb roach , ten pound tench and bream etc. He's a lovely old boy who likes to talk. Great location.
I have heard about otter problems but only from the owner who took a rather robust approach shall we say....
