Hi Kev The proposed full rules and regs are in the process of being defined and agreed upon. They will not be in this years yearbook but there will be a board at the venue with all the rules on. Make sure you get there half an hour early to read them , as the baliffs will be asking questions when they come round to check your ticket If you get 54 of the 56 answers correct then you will be shown a funny handshake and enlisted as a fully fledged member of the " Fishing with one trouser leg rolled up club " By the way, the last two sentences are in jest All the best Rusty

I have only been to mmp once since leeds took over but have fished kippax park a few times in the rivers closed season. And I have a issue with the rules there for some reason it states on the ticket one rod only. Which I find strange seeing other leeds venues and other local commercials allow two.
I can't remember if this applies at mmp and I wonder why this is the case at KP.

Far too many have to be rescued after they are pulled in, it happen on a weekly basis in the summer

I don't think that's really a valid reason Graham I'm sure two rods are allowed on the polo and prior to the khv problem that held plenty of fish big enough to tow a rod. Most other commercials I frequent get on with the two rod rule so I can't understand why it seems to be our "match venues" that have their own set of rules.
And in the river closed season when I do come over to the dark side a venue where I can fish with two is allways my first choice of venue even though this means paying for a day ticket.

Regardless of our jokes about fish in barrels mmp is not always a fish a chuck at the end of March. And the times I have had two fish on at the same time I can count on one hand. Maybe I should start putting bait on both the rods I'm using.
Joking aside other commercials allow you to use common sense in deciding wether it's appropriate to use two rods. And two rodding is a great way to see what bait they prefer.
I do appretiate some forum members can only combine two rod angling with a spot of swimming.

Sometimes you just need a quick dip in the river to cool off . . .. .

If I send you a 8' x4' stamped address envelope could you rip the board off and forward it to me to have a read , Regards Kev

He he . . Like it Kev I think the basic rules for pleasure fishing will be common sense but there has been a lot of discussion about rules for matches . . How far to the next platform you can fish etc. At a recent Fisheries Management Committee we had been discussing that one for almost 20 minutes before we took a breath and realised it might be best leaving the match rules to the matchmen to sort Good luck if you go and watch out for them Kamikaze Tout !!

Coachman
I have been reading quite a lot lately about MMP. Is this a Leeds Water? if so why does one who has a year book have to pay? I understand that anyone can get a yearly ticket for a measly £10, surely this is unfair to year book holders, I as a pensioner have just paid £27 for a year book. I fish regularly at Kippax Park where I pay £4, this is a privately owned fishery but managed by LADASA. So is MMP private or a Leeds water? I have been encouraged by a few of the bailiffs at Kippax to give MMP a try, but the fuel cost of getting there and then have to pay to fish is putting me off.

MMP is owned by the society but we decided to introduce an annual permit for members, just as York have, this money is to be used to help with the maintainence and future stocking of the fishery. Kippax Park is a rented fishery and charge a day ticket to assist with the rent payment
Changes may well be made for the 2017 season in relation to the above.
Regards
Graham
