Sounds like someone trying to stir the pot if you ask me. Lee won't have said anything like that. We've been making improvements to the lake to attract MORE members so a great venue will be there for the future.

Hi, well i just had a look week or so back, as every year (Winter), no Leeds Lock at CH. Few days later Leeds Lock But no Barrel, so basically unlocked. Other complex locks OK. Been same for last 3 years, lad whoes been member longer, said its same every year. Mind he did say to me, what goes around, comes around.
Cheers Bob

New locks were purchased well before Christmas for Wintersett and I thought they had been collected and put in place, evidently not

Cold hiendley lock was vandalised so landowners have locked it until I get a new one fitted. Gate to half moon was rammed by a stolen van so lock was smashed, so that is also locked by landowners. When I get time to pick up the new locks and can get someone to weld them in place I will sort it out.In the meantime anglers still have pedestrian access to the lakes. Not really a big deal as very few anglers fish here during winter. If anybody wants to look around the lake they arebetter doing it on foot than driving around and Getting their car stuck on the muddy banks as usually happens during winter

Leeds still own it, i have fished it for many years and have never had any problems, it has been adopted by a syndicate who have done and are doing some awesome work down there. Re any dodgy characters ask to see there book and if they don't have one ask them to leave, works for me. As there are locks on all the gates you will usually find they have a book and key. How can a syndicate have adopted this water if it's on the Leeds book? A syndicate gives people exclusive rights on the lake and normally a joining fee and only syndicate members can fish it.

Because they are not a syndicate, they are a member club of the society, lets just drop this syndicate idea it doesn't exist

Craig A SYNDICATE haven't adopted the water. The club that Pete ( Northface ) and Lee the baliff are members of, Highwood AC , have adopted the water in so much as they look after it. As previously stated they have made a fantastic job of it. I would suggest that you ignore any rumours or gossip you hear on here and go have a day fishing it. It is the nicest AND best kept Stillwater we own, and in the surrounding area , in my opinion. All the best Dave R

All the best Dave R I am planning on getting my night ticket for the place as I used to love it back in the day when Leeds had catterick. I will just ignore the syndicate rumours as like you and others have said its complete rubbish. The lads who are associated from another club sound like they have done a good job but that doesn't make it their syndicate or more rights than others. Just out of interest can you say ticket the water and if so how much and do you pay on the bank? Can you pay for 24hr sessions too?

It's just a group of lads that wanted to do a bit of work to the venue, it's a work in progress but coming on great. No syndicate! Can everyone stop saying syndicate ,,,,,,more than anything we just wanted permission from Leeds to do works on the lake with specimen anglers in mind as a lot of us have fished it for years, have fond memories from the place and want it to remain.... As for day tickets I don't really know but for the money you might as well buy a yearbook for fifty odd quid. Cheap as chips!!!!!! Then you can fish days on knotford and many other places. Bargain!

Hi, yeh only a few anglers on in the winter (prob be more if no lock prob), not many more Summer. But those in Winter are PIKERS, not Carpers. Funny no probs in Summer (well in past at least). Just spoke to a Lad whoes member for Piking, he knows to at least 4 more. ALL PAY £55, ALL BE PEEDED OFF. Yes plenty of Litter on bank, but 99.999999990 % of thats walkers & Cyclists, loads of them, all stopping on Dam Wall/ bench. Yes theres some who don't buy £4 ticket, that needs some good Baliffing !!!! Some people think everyones thick, well paying £55 for nowt, must be.
Cheers Bob
ps must be good those vandalising locks, hard enough opening them, stuck up in a box.
