Not a bad result on your first outing, Miller! and only in four hours. I too shall be fishing Knotford for the first time shortly. Are you still looking for a fishing buddy? Maybe we can do a day session, if you're up for it. I'm in desperarte need on weekend on the bank!

miller, delegates meeting next thurs and yes it would do some good giving your views, graham parks gen sec explained in another thread that the comittees have spread themselves thinly due to the amount of work done at kippax park, and the working partys on the ouse, if we had'nt have done that work we would have taken some stick so sometimes we just cant win! as a member of the gp and fisheries management comittee and someone who fishes knotsford i can tell you, we do to quote a guest give a rats arse and the venue is one of our prioritys and i will personally bring up any other comments at the next gp meeting. regards frim

Ok what time is the meeting and where is it? i do have a few things to mention although possibly not all negative I would be a little bit weird going by myself seems though i am a new member but if some others would be willing to join me i will. Julian? Dan? any others willing to come along if available? Dan where do you live? We maybe able to organise something not even just on the leeds waters, i would happily fish with you though if you are free when i am

Frim, I'm not yet a member, but can I still attend the delegates meeting to comment from an "outsiders" point of view, as a angler wishing to join the club?
Miller, I live in Bramley. I'd be pretty easy to recognise at Knotford if you got talking to me...I'm a Southerner. Where abouts do you live then?

I live in Headingley, i would be easy enough to recognise I am a 'proper' northerner from Middlesbrough so my accent is pretty strong. Pm'ed you

miller, i think there are wires crossed here, to attend a delegates meeting you must be a delegate- if you are then get down there and blast away!! if not any member gets a chance at the a.g.m. regards frim ps, you have probably noticed that graham park gen sec is now using the forum, stan, chris, myself and other comittee members all take note so your comments are not going unheard.

sorry if my question has been asked before but why don't Leeds have a separate specimen group to tackle all these issues and attend committee meetings.

it's been said before, there is no reason you cant have a "speci section" the society would welcome it, but someone has to get the group together. five members are all it needs to get a delegate, but it seems non of the specie lads can be bothered, i think the p.a.c has a group but i'me not sure, and i know highwood ac has a barbel/speci group made up from some very good lads, but they only formed this season so may take a while to make an impact. regards frim

Leeds Amal. used to have its own Specimen group, "Guest", as an affiliated club. But the the trouble with big fish anglers is they fish alone, unlike match anglers who need other anglers to fish against. So the match lads are usually free weekday evenings, but the Specimen lads are usually fishing when they have spare time, rather than spending evenings down at the Anglers club. So getting folk to commit to do the job of delegate was a real pain, (your club has to attend a given number of meetings per year where 99% of the business is of no relevance, or you are in bother), and eventually the club folded. There's no reason why a Specimen section shouldn't work, but do get a committed delegate before going ahead with it. BOF

I know what you mean, margin crawler. My mate and I have only been fishing it since May, and over the last couple of outings we have brought quite a lot of other peoples rubbish home with us too.
Empty bottles and cans are clearly to heavy for some people to carry home...
