Last weekend myself and Dan fished the lake and found bits and bobs here and there, the week before on the spit we came back wih two placstic bags full of empty beer bottles, a three litre bottle of water and other bits of rubbish.
It is a nice well looked after lake, the annoying thing is that people make the effort to throw their litter in the bushes, god knows what they chuck in the lake!!!!
Another thing that we have recognised people doing is clearing their peg (fair enough) then leaving their rubbish in the car park . . . .why, when the car is just there? Ignorance.

Unforutunately mate, as we've said before whilst being on the bank, it's the thoughtless, ignorant minorority that spoil it for everyone else!

This really f**ks me off. Every time I go down the lake whether its for a walk or to fish I pick peoples crap up. Its the problem with it being a day ticket water. Regarding whats chucked in the lake I've seen some bloody dangerous rigs being reeled in over the years that people have cast out and cracked off.

Yeah it is both worrying and annoying, the only thing that we can do to help/sort it is by doing what we are doing. Making people aware of the need to take things home and to continue to pick things up after others and hope everyone gets the message eventually It is frustrating but I would rather fish a nice peg than one full of rubbish.

JB, do you think that if it wasn't open as a day ticket water things would be diiferent? Whether that be with the rubbish issue or the dangerous rigs people are using?

JB, do you think that if it wasn't open as a day ticket water things would be different? Whether that be with the rubbish issue or the dangerous rigs people are using? If it was a members only water and balliffed better it may narrow down the culprits. I have never been fishing at the lake and seen someone leave a swim with crap in so pointing the finger is hard and what makes it worse is it is probably a minority of carp anglers that are leaving the litter and spoiling the place for others that fish there not just for the fish but because its a nice place to be. I'm not the only person people picking up peoples crap there are others as well
