I had two double figure barbel last weekend 45 mins apart on Leeds water Stan, 11.2 and 10.7.
There was that 12 as well as you say, plus another 10.2 as well from the same stretch.
And others came out that same night, a 10.9 on the Ouse. And another 11.2 on the Swale. Don't know if they were on Leeds waters though Stan.
Best night of my life catching those fish and thats why the river sections we have are so precious and we have to do all we can to look after them.

I can vouch for that. I netted, weighed & photographed it...and blanked. Hopefully the tables will be turned next time we're out!

That bream that you had tweed is one of several escapees from the Lagoon. The only place around there that has bream of that size, apart from the Wharfe now!!!, is the lake or lakes because the Bradford lake also has some good fish in it of that size.
But the Leeds lake is teh one where the big bream are if you can find them.....I had 4 fish out one morning once whilst tench fishing and 3 of those 4 fish were over 10lbs. Huge bream.
Its not the only bream I have heard of from the Wharfe around there, a fish of over 8lbs was caught when a chap did a feature for Anglers Mail on chub fishing at Pool. He caught a load of chub on bread and topped it off with the big slab.
