i was wondering how long it would take to get a bite from that one,Roy.Wasnt particularly on about litter although i see what you mean by re-reading it.Really it was a rant about the way in which carp a nd carp fishing has changed over the last few years-there seems to be a new breed of carp anglers, not really having had any previous background in fishing, coming into the sport. They go out and spend a load of money on gear, turn up on our waters, set up their shiny new rods and tackle, then proceed to work their way through a couple of crates of lager, then start acting like idiots. If you've never seen them, then you've been lucky. These people are the reason why theres NO NIGHT FISHING on all wakefield club waters.Once again, the minority have knackered it up for the rest of us.They tried pitching up at wintersett, but didnt last long for some reason. It is my opinion that carp anglers,GENUINE carp anglers are a valuable asset to any club because they are the ones who spend most time on our waters, and therefore keep an eye out for things, this is the basis of the argument that was used to persuade leeds angling club to allow night fishing on wintersett, later to be allowed at other leeds venues,it would be well to remember that it was me who got night fishing allowed on leeds waters, alongside the fact that i have been carp fishing since early 1980's before assuming i'm having a go at carp anglers.

i agree with the instant carp angler bit,i have seen somethings that would make my dad turn in his grave.like getting so drunk while fishing, fish care goes out the window.i woud like to see bailifs from time to time at the venues.its ok saying we are all bailifs by being members,if we dont stick togerther when seeing this sort of behavour,it will not stop.what kind of impression does this give the younger members.that its ok to have no regard to other anglers on the venue,or to fish care and to the sports reputation.

Ths comment about the new breed of carp anglers is spot on. I fish wakefield waters and nothing has changed even with the banning of night fishing. Some of them are still doing it, driving on the grass when we have been told not to. They think that because they have 4x4 non of these rules apply & when they have been fishing it for so many years they should still be allowed to night fish it. And the litter they leave behind is a disgrace.

I've not realy read much of this thread, it seems that theres abit of slagging off of carp anglers etc, thats by the by the carp are in the river system of the wharfe and if anything it may well keep the otters ocupied so they don't eat so many other spieces. I'd be interested to read peoples accounts of sittings or captures of carp in the wharfe certanly betwen pool and tad if anyone has some info a PM would be greatly recieved ;D
