would members wishing to cut trees down please consult with myself first, the trees which have been cut down in the back woods swim did not need cutting down as the swim was perfectly big enough for a 2 man bivvy and casting can be achieved with a bit of wading

you can wade out far enough to cast a bait as opposed to cutting down trees

We have also had a visit at Knotford by a mystery wood cutter with a saw! Looks better than the job the mystery wood cutter did with an axe on the point a few years ago! Must be a new trend!

I'm not 1 for having all foliage cut down round a lake, natural as possible for me and knotford is maturing nicely but there are 1 or 2 swim that could do with a trim. I can see the need to be chopping trees down though. god knows what they were thinking when they chopped the tree on the point down

Why not to cut down trees 1. Trees Produce Oxygen 2. Trees Clean the Soil 3. Trees Control Noise Pollution 4. Trees Slow Storm Water Runoff 5. Trees Are Carbon Sinks 6. Trees Clean the Air 7. Trees Shade and Cool 8. Trees Act as Windbreaks 9. Trees Fight Soil Erosion 10. Trees Increase Property Values 11.Trees are the enemy of commercial fisheries as useless twunts can't seem to avoid decorating them with mono/braid/lead/floats etc etc etc etc forestry.about.com/od/treephysiology/tp/tree_value.htm

I had a walk round Knotford on Saturday, and it looks like the tree cutter has been out with a vegence this time. Areas of 'Mozzie' corner have been "butchered". Trees have been completely cut back that were not inhibiting angling at all.
All the willio whips I planted behind 'Headland' and 'Waterworks' have also kindly been ripped out of the ground.
As JB said, Knotford was beginning to mature nicely until this idiot took it upon his self to start cutting things back.
If people are having a problem with access to swims and in swim, please speak to myself or Phil. We'll gladly remove (within reason) any offending trees.
Please DO NOT take it upon yourself to destroy everything I have done over the last years to help benefit others

there were a couple of kids in mozzie friday night, splashing about. Sad to hear about the willows there were growing as well.

I think the ones in Mozzie were done between Wednesday morning (when I packed up to go to work) and Friday about diiner time (about 5ish) when someone was in that peg, but he says they were like it when he got there.

The cutting on the otherside of the spit didnt look that bad, although it had already had a bit of a trim in that area where branches were starting to get in the way!
