I've heard a couple of times over the last year or so there could be plans to allow cars to drive to some swims like at Wintersett.
I've heard it could be done on Knotford's East Bank, has anyone else heard this and what's your thought & opinions?

Not sure about wintersett as i don't know the place. As for knotford, I don't think there is any need and it would realy churn the back up and could be dangerous in winter. Its not difficult to move around the lake with gear. If they were to build a road it would be alot of disturbace and expense that surly could be put to better use on other venues. Using the money to do some control of the pads and rushes and trim the odd branch here there abit of tree planting and removal of snags would be more benifical to the venue in my view

I am assuming that due to the lack of response, people obviously are not too bothered about about being able to drive round the lake

Would be a bad move in my opinion, it is not like any of the swims are that long a walk

If this was to happen, I think there would have to be a road built because most of the Eastbank is water logged for six months of the year. Anyone who's ever fished the Eastbank much knows, even just a few day's of rain and there are ankle deep puddles and mud! So without a proper road it would only be a matter of weeks before the Eastbank would be churned up and unpassable to any kind of motor other than 4x4's of the off roading jeep type.

Thanks for your comments guys, much appreciated. One final thing to add though, I doubt anglers would want to be woken in the small hours of the morning with a car going past them
