Hi all, two days fishing in a row was novel, day one was on Rainbow, i drew peg 16 ... looks lovely eh! but earlier in the day the wind was in my face, it was quite difficult to get bait to the right place, 8mm banded pellet chucked to the corner of the island was my chioce of method. Early doors i had a take, it crashed straight into the reeds and did one, this did the swim no good at all, some time later a Rainbow made a fine account of its self followed by a smallish blue trout, some time was spent chucking ledgered pellet around my swim to no avail, so back to the pellet waggler to land a reasonable bream for a total net weight of 7lb on the nose. Day two on Lapwing, peg 22, i began fishing the margin to my right, first take came pretty quick, a nice Ide, then quite a few more, one small mirror and a cracking Crucian, then the bigger fish moved in and my gear was put to a real test, i hooked into a fish that led me a merry dance all over the place, it felt like an upper double figure fish, but no, it was foul hooked in the pec , i lost this fish after a good few minutes trying to tease it to the net, it was only around five or six pound, things got better towards the last hour with three carp for 14lb, silvers weighed in at 11.8oz. The best of my catch was the Crucian, just cos i love em ;D I think i came 21st out of 24 overall, not great but it's a start, i had a great experience and can't wait to get back to KP to try again, been new to match angling i have to say i do enjoy it, far more than the long hours of inactivatey carp angling ;D A big thanx to Stan for organising this once in a lifetime event. Big up Lilly-bet, 60 years on the throne, God save the Queen. Best fishes and tight lines to all. Daz.

Daz. I think 3 carp, 2 skimmers and 5 gudgeon was a good effort for 6 hours - it's been a while since I used that bob float and it was difficult seeing the bites what with my eyes not being as good as they were 30 years ago ;D At least i didn't waste a load of bait by throwing it in - I managed to bring home half of the tin of luncheon meat I took and still have a quarter of a pint of maggots left out of the half pint I bought That's another day out for me with no bait cost ....... no flies on me mate
