Could anyone advise of how many carp died in 1998 and what size they where and what caused their death? And how many of the original carp stock are left and what size these are.
Kind Regards
Paul

So that's 15 yrs ago when you were 18. I'm intrigued to learn why you want to know and what has precipitated the question. geoff

Hello Geoff,
Nothing other than that heard a few years ago that a number of fish had died and I am not certain this is true with regards to how many fish where lost.
Kind Regards
Paul

Paul wouldn't it have made more sense to pose a question i.e 'is it true that carp died at knotford .....etc.....etc. Your post implies that you know the deaths happened.

If I remember right 98 was a bad year for fishkills. Yeadon Tarn lost alot of good fish as well. Glad I didn't have to witness what happened at Knotford though, seeing the damage otters do was bad enough for me!

there were loads and loads dead at knotford. Doubt anyone counted them, it wasn't a pleasant sight. don't think it was just carp that died. heard rumours about what caused it but not sure what really did.

I have photo's of it and they are not nice. We went round a filled black bin liners with them then burnt them all.
It was more than just carp but it was mainly carp.
