Isolated Carp have been seen in the Wharfe from Knotford down to 'Skelf. Mostly of fairly modest size, but some are a very worthwhile size indeed. By worthwhile I mean big enough to warrant all the effort in walking the banks all the close season in an effort to locate the areas that the Carp call home. BOF

There used to be some good 20lb+ fish in the swim where the sluice is @ Grimston Park, but the Seal made short work of most of the larger specimens! There's still a few smaller ones there though.

Now the rivers are shut, for the next 90 days or so, its a good time to take a walk down to the section of river you mean to try and see if you can spot any of the fish you are after. Barbel have a habit of "flashing", or rolling over showing their pale belly in the shallower water during the next few months, which can be a dead giveaway. Good luck with locating your target fish.
