hi guys,the ouse at linton is still surprsing us all with the match results,the river came up 4 ft while we were fishing yesterdays yorks w/l 80 on the match,captain craig led the way for tackle 2 you with 13lbs .7lbs of roach before it came up too far then 6lbs of bleak.then 11lbs from the bungalows and clarkie with 9lbs from the bottom peg,the midweeker was on a normal river,aurthur benstead was 1st with 17lbs of roach on the stick float,moaning pete baron was second with 13lbs from a bad peg,[he won last wednesday with 20lbs 12oz 4th dec]punky was 3rd with 13lbs dead tony hewson 4th with 12lbs12oz.plenty of fish at widdington and thorpe through the week too,it fishing the best i have ever seen it,make the most of it guys,dave miles and ian bates are running sat and sun matches after xmas at hunters and linton,widdy n thorpe they are open to all members,the new yearbooks are now in and the g/p balifs will be out in force from the 1st of jan,so you have been warned,make sure you have your new year book.merry xmas and a happy new year to all our members and web readers,stan n babs.

hi guys,yesterdays yorkshire w/l was called off,the road at linton was under water,we had a match at thorpe/widdie and 7 pegs at aldwarke,dave topham won from peg 4 at thorpe with 3lbs 12oz not bad to say there was over 7ft in,a couple of 3lbs 2lbs 9oz last in 41 fished,merry xmas,stan..p/s no bites for me in the last 2 weeks,2014 will be better.

hi guys,only 6ft 6inch in on sunday but on a falling river,we fished for the first time for the henry baron trophy donated by one of our former clubs,a true silver fish over a foot long,paul bennet won the match with 4lbs 2oz,well done paul,9 roach,2lbs 12 was last in,4th n 5th our lass was first out with 2lbs 11oz,44 fished,its the yorks w/l next week,i hope the river goes down ,i had 4 roach for 1lbs 5os my first bites for a change after 2 blanks,just copying babs the lobbie queen.stan..

hi guys,only 5ft in this week,dennis white won the y/w/league with 6lbs of roach on the tip,24 roach did the trick,peg 249,well done den,good job someone in our team can catch fish,phil austin was second from peg 189 at hunters with 15 roach for 5lbs 6oz,a big 3lbs was last in,7th.stan..

Great stuff stan but what about us mere mortals ? It made me laugh years ago when Dennis White fished for Barnsley Blacks with Clegg, Pickering and the rest. They said he could catch fish in his bath!! geoff

hi geoff, he still can the guys a wizz,finding it hard to walk about at times but he is still going,found out about the ouse in later life,both him and hobbo are class,they travel together and do a great double act,one of dens jokes,all the birds in barnsley have bronze -its,stan..

hi guys,hobbo and the whizz did the old 1.2 on saturdays match,kieth was at middle widdie,dennis was the last prg in the first field at thorpe,stan haige won on sunday from 196 at hunters with a chub and 3 roach for 5lbs,phil austin was second from the last peg at thorpe with 10 roach for 4lbs 9oz,both caught on the pole feeder,4ft in,it droped a bit through the week,3ft in on wed,reports of double figure nets of roach,news flash,most of the aireborough team were seen practising on thursday,at least 4 of them fishing the pole feeder,ending the false rummor that they only had 1 pole to share beetween the 10 of them,the rivers droping at the mo only 3ft 6inch in roll on sunday.stan..

hi guys 1m in this week and rising,over 12lbs was needed to win,big roach on the feeder,wayne bartholomewwas the winner,treasurer paul clark was second from widdie with 9lbs 4oz,ian bowman was third with 6lbs 9oz,our lass was 4th with a bream on 220,6lbs 4oz ,a big 5 was last in [7th].the rivers are on the up again with more rain to come,yak..stan..
