Anyone else visit the York Bird of Prey Centre? Its an excellent place very educational for the kids and the displays are brilliant. The snaps of a rescued Golden Eagle! who would have a Golden Eagle as a pet.

saw a crow chasing a buzzard this morning dicing with death i thought

The owner was saying all the birds, that’s over 30 are free flown on a regular basis and they’ve never had one not comeback. The day we went they gave an aerial display with owls, Black Kite and a Peregrine Falcon, the Falcon disappeared into the distance but it was back within 10 minutes. The speaker was saying that they can regulate how far they fly by regulating their food and only flying them at the right weight. It was our second visit and well be going back as they are always changing their talks and displays and we even got a family ticket and my youngest is 28 years old.

I couldn’t believe someone had a Golden Eagle as a pet in their back garden, no wonder it needed rescuing.
