Hello, I'm hoping to fish Topcliffe and Asenby first week in November, would like some info on recommended line strength and what type of line? plus roughly what weight will hold bottom for feeders and grippers leads? many thanks in advance

I an assuming you are after barbel? Main line I think everyone would recommend 10lb minimum as for leads, if the rivers still low, you don't need to go too heavy, but with a bit of extra water in you can expect to use several ounces. Good luck Eddie.

Leadfoot - 12 pound mainline and don't worry if you think this will scare the fish ...... just watch Tom Charly Farlys video's. A little birdie tells me Tom uses 15 pound plus line and he catches the fish ...... Hope Santa brings you a longer landing net handle though Tom

I agree with rushy, 12 pound mainline at least, you sometimes need to "Hit and Hold" because of the snags. Although I don't recommend "Hit and crank" 15lb plus line. We've all seen the videos
