Hi lads, If you've not ventured to our new pools at Moor Monkton yet and you like to catch a few fish , get yourselves up there. The fish are starting to move and feed.. My first impression of the front pool was a muddy hole but now the shrubbery , reeds beds around the edge and the greenery in general is starting to grow it is a different place ! Had a good few hours tonight with some lovely condition Carp on meat . Not a single torn lip. . A few nice Bream and a lovely fantail Crucian or whatever it was The fish were caught up to the island on pellet waggler and under the rod tip and even closer in. The gates were closed at dusk so you can get a good few hours in. The only other advice I would give is take an unhooking mat and lay it on the deck board pegs in front of you. Then when you catch a fish you can simply lay it on the mat in your net, unhook it and slip it back without damage from the boards or the chicken wire that is on them to stop you going in the drink Ten pound a year . . . . . Absolute bargain !!!!! Tight lines Rushy

Had a couple of spare hours tonight so it was either get the lawnmower out or go fishing mmmmmmmmm Picked up my thirty quid pole , landing net , tin of meat . something to sit on and headed up to Moor Monkton. Arrived at 5.30 pm and there had been a match on the Front pools assuming there had been a bit of bait going in , settled for a peg on there. Plumbed up and stuck a piece of meat on . lowered it in next to a bush and turned round to get a few bits of meat to chuck in and before I had chance to turn back round the pole was being wrenched out of my hand Don't half go these Carp /. . I had two phone conversations while it was bouncing around in front of me Next cast . . . within two minutes the float slid away again . . and another ten minutes trying to coax it up into the top layer of water to get some air down its throat They are not doing my trusty old pole any good these hard scrapping fish Not a good look is it And so it went on . . . and on . . . and on . . . every cast I got a fish and none under four pound then I latched onto this thing I was thinking about ringing the wife up and telling her I might not be home for tea ........ it took forever to get in didn't weigh it but it must have gone ten easy Packed in at half 7 with Carp overload . . . . . is t=it June 16th yet . . . let me at them Dace

Good to hear you still feel the fight on a pole. On the videos it always looks so clinical. Yet another thing for the gumtree.com list then.

Pull the bung out and tie a knot in the elastic, that will guarantee a few bumped fish at KP

Meant to get two £10 Moor Monkton permits when we popped in the club office just now, but realised we had less than £25 between us and the key took priority, since I've been trying to get there to pick up a key for weeks now.
Look out Sandwath here we come.
