I am new to the club and have spent a lot of time pouring over the venue details for the rivers In an attempt to be up to speed before venturing out and I have to say there are quite a few things that need to be updated a good number of grey areas and also some details that are just IMHO difficult to follow. Looking at the venue map for Kexby below the parking shown Is at the upstream limit near the old bridge. Also shown on the map Is a lane from Newton on Derwent mask lane but It Is not clear if access Is allowed from Mask lane If the only access for this stretch Is form the upstream end would It not be better to make this clear and not show what appear to other possible alternatives on the venue map.

Hi Stevo You can get access from mask lane,A lot of dog walkers and joggers use it so I cannot see a problem.I don't know about parking there though. You could park in the village and walk down or have a look and see if there is any where to park.I think that parking is only show at the top limit because the club has specific permission to park there.

Re mask lane I got told about the fishing at the end of mask lane about 2 years ago and the person who told me was a little vague about who controlled the fishing at the time, maybe leeds didnt have It at that point In time but apparently people were certainly fishing there. I never got round to having a look down there mainly becauce I am reluctant to fish anywhere unless I am 100% certain of the fishing rights and right of access parking. There Is so much river fishing on the leeds book It can be a daunting task choosing a venue Its just a pity a lot of the information on the website Is outdated," Park as for Low Catton no parking In accomodation Lane". I have to say I am struggling to find a link for either instruction, as far as I can see Leeds do not have any fishing at Low Catton and where Is Occupation Lane? can anyone throw any light on either? I seem to get the impression that Leeds belive the majority of there new members will not be river anglers so are not overly concerned about updating there information for the rivers as existing members will be clued up. The trouble Is anglers can get Into all sorts of problems with land owners / locals If they do not adhere to the correct procedure for access and parking, I would certainly be put off from renewing my membership If I encountered such problems surely Its not asking to much for information to be accurate and up to date.

Update on mask lane went down there for a look today the lane is a bit rough but passable with care and there Is room for 2 or three cars on the grass verge at the bottom of the lane. There were a couple of lads just unloading there kit when i arrived it looks like there are cars using the area at the bottom of the lane more likely dog walkers rather than anglers. Had a quick look upstream and have to say it looks very nice stretch with loads of cover very fishy looking indeed.

When you get around to reading an email from the US Defense department, it may seem surprising at first but while you were away someone who wants to fish Hammerton horseshoe bend took to making enquiries on your behalf about buying some napalm and particularly some Agent Orange for the Club.
Hope that's OK?
