Johnboy must be going blind as well as deaf when we looked over bridge there were plenty of fish. Dad had to go so to continue fishing it was off to skip bridge only managed to stay til 10pm had enough by this time blanked as well. Finally managed to get a fish picture on this is the chub caught at Asenby on float fished prawn.

hiya mate did Thornton Bridge on the other side on Monday tried a bit further up but no bits so around 5 pm after the workmen had gone home I dropped into 1 peg above the bridge,
tried sweet corn, meat but nothing so went on top of the bridge to have a look at least 1/2 dozen chub if not more and at least 2 barbel I could see 1 was defo a double so I decided to put on a really big halibut pellet and within 5 mins this came out
5lbs 3oz haha not the double I was after but a barbel anyway and first time on halibut pellet so I was chuffed to bits.

was going to go to skipbridge tonight but it got to late and to warm and I think the rivers need some water in, I`m sure this is actually what happened last year at this time If you total up the number of blanks between us on here on the Nidd in the last week, I'd say it's a wise choice to stay away. Eddie had at least one barbel last Wednesday, I had a small one out the same eve, but lot of blanks been reported since then (including by me). I'm headed for some big rivers (Wye for a long weekend, that's the weekend after next, and possibly even a day on the Severn before that), and I'll be looking at maybe float fishing big baits in fast water for a try of something different. Been quite inspired by this fella that talks on this video from 25:50 www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvfxGSvRz6c (don't watch it before 25:50 unless you have a luncheon meat fetish and an obsessive interest in how big your meat is !!!). Might even be fishing that same free stretch at Bridgnorth for a day on me way to Hereford. Great to see fish still coming out the Swale though, well played lads.
