Ha ha , not suggesting we use our friendly little amphibians as bait , but have been thinking about the cheese thread on here.
As well as the video linked in the other thread there is also a Korum film of a guy fishing cheese for barbel in Holland and he does very well. As a kid when I got fed up with float fishing my old man would set me up with a ledger rod and impale a large lump of smelly cheese on the hook. I don't recall catching barbel but would often get a big old chub out. So next time out I'm having some in my bait box !
On the French theme , I was walking the dogs last night and crunched twenty or so large snails in the darkness. This got me thinking about hair rigging one or two for the barbel. They must be a very natural bait and presumably very attractive to the fish. Or what about using the shells stuffed with paste.
What do you think ?
Keep on keeping on
Mick.

Someone's definitely misunderstood me about needing to test my frog hair knots.
