Hi all, Anyone fancy a social at Skip Bridge and the railway field . . . Above the railway bridge on Saturday 5th September. Thought we could make it a Nidd Barbel Cup Social with a trophy ( kindly donated by Mr Park ) for the biggest Barbell of the day. My idea would be to stay fairly close together and work our way up the length ( markers could be put in pegs that have been fished so people know they have already been fished ) Maybe do The horse field in the morning and then Railway bottom in the afternoon. As we are close it will be easy to get fish witnessed etc and it will also make it ideal for having a natter in between baiting up etc Could always finish off with a pint afterwards in the Alice to hear the winners speech  PARTICIPANTS Rushy Ian Mcbarbel Johnboy Smiley Madchestercarper Harry Eddie Ronnie Stormchaser Deanos Cabbo Brent Shane |

i'm not one for match fishing but it should be a good day out.....will it be one rod or two? and can we count chub in if no barbel are caught  |

Whatever you normally do on a days pleasure fishing. It's Barbel only that count though. By the way, you don't have to be a member of Forum AC to join us . . It's an open invitation  |

but I think its only fair to use just 1 rod then everyone is equal as some pegs you can only get 1 rod in anyway (all fair in love and war)some of us only like fishing with 1 rod ME !!!

Sounds great but alas I'll be in sunny spain. But the way my seasons going it would need to be a perch match.

Just had to check when I was away, it's the weekend before so count me in, Harry I can give you a lift mate, we can sort it out a day or two before( if I do it now I will probably forget what we arrange lol).

Ooooooo . . . The big boys are coming out to play now They'll do well to beat Rushy and Johnboy on the Nidd though . . . I can feel a fifty pence side bet coming on  Could have a potential disaster from an afternoons float outing . . Got two little Barbs and took a piccy of one . Left my camera perched on my mini tripod and a bloody Robin landed on it and knocked it in the river ........... It's just drying out . . . Hopefully  |

i should be OK for it Dave unless we get a last minute holiday. Have you ever thought of getting a wetsuit and speargun, you spend more time dredging about in the river than fishing. Have you seen the planning notice on those new iron gates at the mill for 10 ponds along the lane.

But you never know it may be competition for Moor Monkton. |

Unfortunately cannot make this will be travelling back from holiday won't be home til evening. Maybe next years work party should be to open the access all along the length, might take a couple of goes though!!!
