Just got back from a trip to the Trent at North Muskham just did two short sessions Monday 14.30 to 19.30 one barbel around 8lb on double elips pellet. Tuesday fished 09.30 to 13.30 for two barbel one around 7lb and one around 4lb both on frolic dog biscuit soaked In hemp oil with a hint of garlic flavour. River low and clear so I am well chuffed with three fish caught during the day under far from ideal conditions, had three roach up to about 8oz on the light rod fishing a 4mm pellet on an 18s hook but no other fish to report Suffering with a bad back and had the wife with me on the trip so hence the limited bank time, had to make do with some hearty eating and drinking beer for the rest of the time so It wasnt such a wasted trip after all I am up to five barbel for the season now but my two fish from the Yorkshire Derwent took me over 40 hours of fishing to catch but those Trent fish are little easier to catch and also a little less satisfying Still wish the trent was a bit closer to home though

Well done mate i would love to do a weekend or a couple of days on the Trent as ive only just started this barbel fishing addiction ,and only had the two up to now. Thanks mate the barbel bug certainly takes a hold although I am not a typical barbel angler dont do weighing mug shots and PBs just happy to catch a barbel and If its been hard won then the satisfaction Is even greater. Dont get me wrong each to there own but I stick to my own ideas about whats important In my fishing and let the masses get on with It
