Trout that are still in season

October 1st is the end of the trout season on rivers but you can still fish for these stillwater beauties



A 3lb 6oz rainbow trout caught from my club stillwater. The trout were herding the fry up into certain areas of the lake and then crashing into them for a good feast. This pattern stripped in their vicinity seemed to appeal to them.



I managed two more of a similar size on the same fly.

Oh I love Morrisons !!! They keep all the riff - raff out of Waitrose
