Can anyone give me a bit of info regarding knotsford? The stock of carp, water size, pegs etc? Also is this part of the book and if night fishing is available how to purchase a permit?

Can anyone give me a bit of info regarding knotsford? The stock of carp, water size, pegs etc? Also is this part of the book and if night fishing is available how to purchase a permit? I'll do my best, Knotford is a big water, mostly shallow, but with plenty of depth variation. Islands, Lilly pads, rush beds and plenty of trees lining most of the banks. It can be quite weedy. It's LDASA's premier specimen water with carp to 30lb plus and is fished by mostly specimen carp anglers. It does get pike fished in winter and big bream are also caught 10lb plus. Don't know the stock levels, but it strikes me as the sort of water where the fish you catch are worth waiting for! You can day fish with your Leeds book but for nights you do need an extra permit, available from the club office at the anglers club. Opening times inside the Leeds book, you also need a passport type photo, not sure of the price, but if you ring the office you can find out. Hope that helps a bit. Ps. You also need a key for the locked car park gate,£5 available from the cub office too, it opens all club gates. Eddie.

Have a look at northface's thread "knotford a-list" on the fishing talk board, photos of some of the big carp!
